Do you think you’re the most interesting person in the world. Or do you yell from the rooftops about how great and wonderful you are? If you love boasting about yourself, online and off, you are not alone. The vast majority of us do. Now some Harvard neuroscientists explain that, in a recent study, “acts of self-disclosure were accompanied by spurts of heightened activity in brain regions … associated with the sense of reward and satisfaction from food, money or sex.”
The above image shows, the same areas of the brain are activated, bragging gives the same sensation of pleasure as food and money. Also, Harvard neuroscientist Diana Tamir said, ”People were even willing to forgo money in order to talk about themselves.” So… It is okay for you to blow your own trumpet too – after all, if you don’t, who will?
